How Much Freedom Is Expendable in the Name of Security?

McCain Campaign Going Down in Flames

Davy C Rockett
It looks as though John McCain will not be following Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell, as Commander in Chief in 2008. Support is wavering for the Republican Presidential Candidate, as the Q2 campaign contributions reports come in and hit the presses.McCain raised around 25 million in Q1 and admittedly blew it . "We didn't use the money in the most effective way," McCain said.
Apparently so John, and faster than our elitist leaders in Washington who spend the taxpayers monies they "half-ass" represent, in the most noneffective ways, with "NASCAR lightning speed intensity".
Imagine, if you can, my fellow countrymen, a 60 trillion dollar debt with skyrocketing interest, due to obligated future entitlements, that our brillliant politicians have manage to rack up over the last 60 yrs. It's spent before it comes in.
I have a feeling McCain didn't know what the heck was going on inside his campaign, or was just doing business as usual as an experienced elected federal official, who famously lacks financial understanding and restraint.
If his lack of financial support and "blank check" use of those dollars wasn't bad enough, John McCain is now facing more troubles within his presidential campaign. Two of his top campaign aides, campaign manager Terry Nelson and chief strategist John Weaver resigned this last week. At the beginning of July, McCain's campaign reportedly laid off nearly half of it's staff due to the waning support. At one point, It was reported that McCain had over 100 to 200 paid people involved this early in the campaign.
McCain was also stated to say that they should have waited and spent more money on TV commercials later down the road in the race for the White House in 2008.
Ron Paul however continues to gain ground and is reported to now have more in the bank than McCain, pushing Paul into 3rd among the Republican hopefuls for President, behind Mitt Romney and Rudy Guiliani in money for campaign financing. In fact on Ron Paul's website they are calling for donations to help expand into bigger campaign headquarters to meet the demand of incoming support into the Paul campaign.
Will McCain bounce back? Very doubtful, but only time will tell, for in the Republican run for the nomination, there is still no definite and clear leader.
Mainstream media reports that Romney and Guiliani are still the frontrunner's based upon Gallop and Zogby polls, but the new media and practically every Internet poll shows Ron Paul with commanding leads of at least 60% of the voters approval and/ or support as their choice for President in 2008.
Once again, I don't think McCain is going to succeed in capturing the hearts and minds of the conservative majority in the United States.
For Conservatives like me, I would have lost no sleep if McCain had been out of the race before the second GOP debate, and I don't think most Republicans would have missed him much either to be quite frank.

The moral Conservative running in 2008

July 12th, 2007
Davy C. Rockett
The political bashing has begun on the Internet. Allegations of misdeeds are travelling amongst the blogs and media.
It seems Mitt Romney is said to have had dealings with making millions from "porn on demand", distributed throughout Marriott Hotels chain, as Mitt set on the board from 1993-2002.
Christian Conservatives are assessing that he doesn't represent their "values", and doesn't seem to be the moral candidate Mitt claims he is when stumping on the campaign trial.
Many conservatives share the idea that Romney is the "flip-flopper" of the Republican party, as Kerry was to the Democrats in 2004.
Undeclared presidential candidate Fred Thompson has been catching flak for supposedly lobbying for a pro-abortion group in his Senate days this past week, and Rudy Giuliani is having trouble with the Christian Conservatives as well, with his stances on abortion, gay rights, cross-dressing and many marriages to many wives. His own son has been on record of not being to fond of Dad's dealings over the years either.
McCain on the other hand has not had any dirt dug up on him that I know of, yet his campaign appears to be going down in flames as financial support is wavering and internal troubles within the McCain campaign camp with top staff resigning early this week, has left McCain anything but a front runner in the race for the White House in 2008.
With a majority of Americans wanting our troops out of Iraq, wanting secure borders, and wanting more freedoms instead of less as we fight this war on terror, the Bush /Cheney doctrine of "Give up liberty and America's core values for the sake of a false security" the last 7 years, is steadfastly waning.
Even as I write today reports of Al-Qaida being just as strong or stronger than the were before 9-11, are coming across the wires.
This would seem to suggest what we've known for some years now, the Bush course for the war on terror in Iraq and abroad is not having this administrations desired effect.
Ron Paul seems to be the one moral candidate defying all the odds and political bashing, having no character flaw issues or little dirt if any, stifling his campaign support.
Paul not only has kept his nose clean over the years, but is also keeping his message in lockstep with the American sentiment of what the role of the government ought to be at home and abroad. Ron Paul's message of life, liberty, peace, prosperity, and constitutionally limited government is long overdue and well received.
Returning to Constitutional Rule of Law is exactly what Americans want, and are intelligent enough to know, is what we need in our history right now.
If perpetual wars / police actions around the globe, 60 trillion in obligated debts, and Hindu prayers leading off Senate dealings isn't enough of a gauge that the American leadership of both parties are on the wrong path, then I say our elected leaders are asking for failure, and need to be removed in 2008.
Ushering in a system not based upon liberty from a creator, but on a system of slavery to the state who deems what rights men will get and what it will spend outside the bounds of law, is not only un-American, unlawful, and immoral, but leaves us more unsecure as well.

Sorry Fred Thompson, your no Reagan

July 10th 2007
Davy C. Rockett
Undeclared Presidential hopeful Fred Thompson isn't getting great reviews by some conservatives, as lights are beginning to expose the darkness of Fred's political misfortunes and personal blemishes.
One story cruising onto the internet highway is Fred being tied to a pro-abortion lobbyist group, while on the other hand he professes to support life.
Our lead article link by Chad Groaning of OneNewsNow.com, a Christian Family News Service states, Dr. Jerome Corsi, who has been active with the Minutemen, a pro-border security group, predicts that Thompson would be very much like George W. Bush on the border issue.
Corsi also says Fred Thompson is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and is a globalist who would push for open borders.
